The Duck Pond

One thing I have discovered this year is The Duck Pond in Centennial Park.

On the way there, we stop at the Vietnamese bakery up the road and get a back of yesterday’s bread rolls to feed the many ducks.

I love going there on a Sunday morning, making sure I get there by 9am, so I can get one of the yummiest bacon and egg rolls and a large long black to start the day.

Afterwards, we go an sit on the steps of the Duck Pond and feed the ducks, swans, pelicans and sometimes the park bullies – the geese.

I find this quite relaxing and a good way to forget about the world.

I end up covered in bread crumbs from pulling the bread rolls apart, but it is well worth a temporary escape from the world.  It’ so peaceful.
